    Poly tarps and Gorilla Tape

How well does Gorilla Tape stick to Cheap poly tarps? Will it hold up as tie-outs for a couple nights in light winds?

I just need something for this weekend that has more coverage than my summer tarp until I can afford a Superfly.

It will work just fine. Be sure to keep the tie out force in sheer and you should be good. Also maybe wipe down the tarp with alcohol first to give a good clean surface for the tape.
    Good luck,

Ditto. Best tieout is to use a 2" long piece of 1/4" dowel (or a stick) at the edge with Gorilla tape wrapped around it and stuck to both side of the poly. Poke a hole through the tape and tie around the dowel. For more detail (far more than you, or anyone, ever needs) search for "Cubenist Manifesto" or "Gorilla Tarp". Warning - this is the thread that befuddled Silver Surfer.

Forget further research. Use Gorilla Tape and a stick.

One 30' foot roll of 1 inch wide tape and a Harbor Freight tarp later, I think it's done.

And I think I went a bit over board.

My rule of thumb: If you didn't use the whole roll, you didn't use near enough.

Gorilla Tape sticks to anything! I'm not sure how they improved on duct tape, but they did.

A little late but I would be sure to round the gorilla tapes corners off so its harder for the tape to catch on something and start to peel.

Mind you that you may want to bring earplugs. Poly tarps are very NOISY in the wind and rain! They may keep you awake in certain weather conditions.
