Hi!
I am an old dude living on Whidbey Island in Washington State. Small intimate island, just me and 89,000 others, and a Naval Air Station. I have 5 acres in the woods and use hammocks regularly to hide out from my wife and others. I typically us a Tree Boat by New Tribe since I tend to climb trees to prune them and sometimes spend a few nights at altitude, something high enough that others don't notice me.
My previous home was a 37 foot sailboat that I lived on for 22 years, I sewed all the sails, bags and windscreens on the boat, many of them more than once.
I still have my original machine, a Viking 3310, now at least 60 years old, almost as old as as I am! I also use Pfaff 130 and a couple of others and have at least a dozen parts machines. Most of my sewing skills were learned by trial and error, lots or error and lots of broken needles and snapped thread.
Glad to see so many people with a common goal and ideals on this forum.
I have been using a Lawson Boy Scout Hammock for the past 3 years, it has changed my view of how comfortable a hammock can really be. I keep building prototypes and have really gleaned a lot of great information from all the threads. Grizzley Adams drew me right in immediately and I have watched everything he has posted and filmed. Great stuff!
Good to be here!
