    Newbie question - ridgelines

    how and where on the suspension do you hang a ridgeline to be used for tarps, peapods, etc.

    Thanks

    If you're talking about a hammock ridgeline, it has nothing to do with the tarp.
    A structural ridgeline keeps the sag of your hammock consistent and a placeto hang goodies.
    A non structural ridgeline is a place to hang things like a ditty bag to hold your headlamp, glasses, moonshine, etc...
    They also keep some bug nets off your face.

    On the tarp, as mentioned, a ridgeline is not needed, but I prefer one because the tarp setup is faster. You can tie each edge of the tarp to a tree, but you might spend a little time back and forth centering a small tarp over your hammock.

    Tarp ridgeline is best tied directly to the tree, not to the suspension.
