Rt 501 PA hang Oct 6/7

MacEntyre is going to be in the area Oct 6 (Sat) and (Sun) 7th. He's passing through on business on his way north. Hanging near the pottery shed shelter. Join us! Everyone's welcome.

I think they still deliver pizza to the parking lot from Pine Grove. Sat night possibility!

Edit...We will be heading up Friday night

Can we make it a Friday and Saturday night hang, 2Q?

I can arrive at your house about 2pm on Friday.

    directions

I am new (3 weeks) to the forums. Looking for info and actually seeing some hangers. Can you provide some directions? I can get to Pine Grove but do not know where the pottery shed shelter is.

I've been reading most of the DIY posts and will be getting material for a hammock in October.

    Thanks.
    Bill

Take 78 west, I believe the Pine Grove/route 501 exit is 13. You'll see the midway diner, then a few miles a huge backyard HAM radio antenna, both on your right. The exit is within yards of the HAM stuff.

After you exit, turn right. You now on 501. Follow past some farms and then you'll start going up a huge hill. When you are at the top you'll see a large parking lot on the right side of the road. It's a long strip, the end you'll see first has an AT sign there, you'll want to park near the other end as that's closer to the shelter. I believe the is a very short blue blazed trail that leads right to the shelter itself. Turn left onto the AT (white blazed) walked about 50 feet to the first camp site on the right. I'll be jealous I can't be there.

Thanks. I used to live in Rehrersburg many years ago. My wife grew up in Cornwall. Met when we worked at Teen Challenge. Just could not place the shelter location.
