carefree sunfree vehicle awning

Greetings dudes and dudettes...

Has anybody ever heard of this stuff? I am considering using this stuff to make a tarp. here is what the box says...

"constructed with urethane-coated waterproof nylon"

supposed to be used as an awning for your van or station wagon. this thing is old but no mildew or delamination.

Just curious about the feasibility of using this.

It is 8' x 9'

Is it waterproof? Can you sew on tie outs? If so, it can be a tarp. People have made tarps from shower curtains, plastic drop cloth, and on and on. If you have the fabric on hand give it a shot and post pics.
