maybe there will be a hang down your way soon?
The Neusiok Trail is not really user friendly for a group hang. Limited facilites, have to hike in, ect.

However, while driving back from Grayson, the wife and I decided we need to go back to Merchants Mill Pond State Park and check it out for a possible group hang.

Thanks Gunner. I forgot to mention that we had a guest hammocker on Fri eve.
Mothership (a friend of MedicineMan) showed up & joined us for the night.
MedicineMan had told her about it so she stopped in from the hike she was on.
I think she would have enjoyed staying longer but had to meet her ride next morn.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Just hoping that next year I can stay up there a few extra days and explore the park more. Too much to do and see there.

A Different Kind of Trip Report.....done to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies.

Let me tell you all a story 'bout Slowhike Tim
He got a group together and they went a hammockin'
We all rode up to Grayson where the weather it was cool
Threw a rope up in the trees and hung Old Big Blue
.....tarp that is, kept us dry, way up high.

Well the next thing ya know all the hangers gathered round
They put up all their rigs and planted stakes right in the ground
Built a righteous flame from Cakes' Magic Box of Fire
We sat there spinnin' tales even though we were so tired.
.....pyros we are, fire is good, we love fatwood!

While Stang was cookin' Hobos, man they tasted right good.
Hickery's pickled okra made us pucker like it should,
The ham hocks n' beans were a mighty dose of fun
For the rest of that night and on into the sun
....stereo, kept the bears away, people too.

When the early yawnin' stopped and the mornin' had some legs
Rockdawg cooked a breakfast of some sausage and some eggs.
Loki tossed the flapjacks and we ate ourselves to pain
We layed back in our hammocks and we went to sleep again
.....oh boy, like a log, ain't he somethin! Go Rockdawg!

To the festival we went, drank some coffee, set our sag
Slappin' both our knees to some good ole Mountain Rag
Invited all the folks in there to lay between the trees
Was an outstanding day just swayin' in the breeze.
Grayson Highlands Fall Festival! HF fun, don't need no sun!

There was apple butter cookin' and molasses smellin' good
The blacksmith forged a poker in amongst the coals and wood.
The quilts were goin' fast, some were freshly off the loom
Everyone's a clappin' to a good old Chet tune
    .....CGP, mountain dancin', country air.

Well, now we're back at camp and we're ready for some eats
Gray Jay's BBQ was fine and Cakes made us some treats.
Adopted us a couple, and the raffle it was fun
Got to say it to ya folks, "Our HF vendors are number one!"
.....Hats off, take a bow, big thanks!

And now we're all at home again, our gear is put away
It sure was nice to see ya'll, until another day.
I can't think of a better group to hang and spend some time
I hope you like my small attempt at humor and some rhyme.
Hammys that is, lay a spell, kick yer shoes off.....
Ya'll come back now, ya hear!

This has been an HF presentatation!
.....Special thanks to Tim. You all are great! HF rocks!

Ha That was great Home Run! I had no idea you were a song writer
That had to take a while. Do you pick a musical instrument as well?
I too will something make and joy in it's making
