    Now THAT'S hammocking

When I was at the Triple Crown bouldering competition this weekend, there were several folks with hammocks throughout the camping area. One setup really caught my eye, though.

I thought ya'll would get a kick out of this....

I also noticed that I was the only one using a hammock with a tarp, and the only one who seemed to put any effort into insulation beyond a sleeping bag. Most of the guys who were hanging had travel hammocks with nothing fancy, and the temperatures got to right around the freezing mark overnight. More power to 'em, I'm sure glad my hammock had a pad slot.

That's cool! I wonder if the guy on top got the benefit of the radiant heat coming off of the guys below him?

Just how did anybody get into that top hammock !?!?!?

I'm guessing he/she climbed the tree to the suspension rope and then worked their way down the suspension.

I'm thinking that they climbed up the other hammocks like a rope ladder. It reminds me of a Three Stooges episode, where they're sleeping in triple bunkbeds. Talk about "Down will come baby"!

i've done this, but not with so many hammocks, only 2, and we had my HH hex tarp so it was really cozy. We did this cuz i wanted to prove this other guy that a tarp did work even with strong winds.
Its funny cuz i've lately met many people who hammock camp but only with a hammock (no tarp, no pad, somehow they thought it was useless), and a sleepingbag only IN CASE IT GETS COLD!!! This photo reminds me of them.
I convinced one (the guy who "bunked" with me) to at least use a tarp.

    stacking hammocks

I cant keep my kids out of them at this point. We have them set up in our living room and they just get to the top ones by climbing the lower ones like a ladder. No one has fallen yet
The set up is with two hammocks most of the time but on occasion there will be three strung up if I am making/working on one.
