    Hennessy Hangin'

Howdy Hennessy Hangers! Just got a Explorer Ultralight in and wanted to run a question by the more experienced hangers here. How would tying a loop at the end of the hammock work to larks head a whoopie sling work? It seems like it would maintain the factory warranty while affording the convenience of the quick adjusting whoopies. What knot would work the best? I was thinking removing the end cover and tying to the hammock end then reinstalling the end cover.

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated!

    Bonus questions:

What is the small rectangle of velcro on the bugnet for? Attaching to the loop with male & female velcro on the fixed side of the net?

What are the rings on the inside of the hammock for: Pad attachment?

    Thanks again for your help.

I've read that the rings inside the hammock are a new feature for attaching HH's silver reflective pad thingy...

I'm a total newb... out for my first hang w/ my daughter tomorrow... (Expedition and Explorer)...

I converted to whoopies similiar to the video above. The only problem I had was that my zip ties kept breaking after having put the system back together. To solve it I used some small microline to keep the sheath over the ends of the hammock. But overall I highly recommend switching to the whoopies.

Try less tension and use T & B ties.

I wouldn't worry to much about voiding the warranty. If you haven't found any defects after a few nights of hanging I would just go ahead and swap out the stock for whoopies. I've had three HH over the years without any issues. Worst case scenario you could reattach the stock suspension and hope Tom doesn't notice.

Thanks for the advice! I decided to attach 1 12" continuous loops to the HH, and attach the whoopies to the loops. It seems to make hanging to closer trees a little easier.

I believe it is used to hold the rolled net back when you are using it as a chair or prefer not to use the net.

I found a Sgt. Rock review on one that had the velcro (& it is for the net) and as the Sgt. stated it really doesn't work very well. Thanks!
