Hi,
I am new in the hammock forum so please forgive me if I ask dumb questions. Is this a yearly event, I would like to get together and learn more about hammock and what is the date?
Thanks
DJ

Ya'll are teasing me. I was up in Uwharrie last Friday night in the rain.
The south 24/27 Trail Head has the most parking - but you have to hike in to anyplace to camp.
The Wood Run Hunt Camp/Trail Head about 1 1/2 miles north of there has a vault toilet (Out House) and lots of parking/camping around it - hunting season can get crowded.
Yates Place also has a vault toilet - little more room to spread out - and easy access to the middle of the UT.
West Morris is comfy but has a $5 (?) fee per night per site.
I'm tied up the 1st weekend - but game for the second or Thanksgiving weekend - Friday to Sunday.
Good water in Panther and Dutchmans Creeks.
the 17th would be better for me.
Woodrun Vault Toilet and circular parking
Watch the first day of muzzleloading and firearm deer seasons. Those days tend to be a little "active". I wouldn't cancel a trip; just understand those are peak usage days in the National Forest. Wear blaze orange and enjoy yourself.
I'm taking a crew on a loop hike of the Uwharrie and Dutchman's Creek Trails later this month. We like to do 15 miles on Saturday and 5 on Sunday generally. If there's forum interest I can post the next hike here. I'm open to group hangs too.

what about badin lake? How bad is the hunting? Like should I pack me bullet proof vest? Or just noisy.
Its mostly just really crowded durring hunting season. It is worse at the free/really cheap camping area. Or at least that has been mmy experience.
I am tied up the weekend before and after Thanksgiving. I am questionable anyway.
crowded or completely full? If there is room to park i am sure we can find places to hang. I would worry more about noise and bullets.
