Indoor Hang? Use TREES, not hooks!

I wanted to be able to hang inside to test gear or just relax, but hooks in the walls are so limited!
I decided to use the real McCoy, so I put two cedars in my bedroom. Now I have full height adjustment, I can string up a ridgeline and play wit the tarps, whatever!
I'm pretty excited about it! Just finished about 15 minutes ago.

I wonder how it is we have come to this place in our society where art and nature are spoke in terms of what is optional, the pastime and concern of the elite?

Really neat idea, and execution, especially tying to wall mount. Could try a cedar ridgepole connecting the two cedar posts to take compression forces. Would reduce wall stresses.

Thanks. I purposely used natural fiber rope for the aesthetic. A cedar ridge would work great...except for the ceiling fan! Actually, I'm not too concerned about the wall stresses; the mounting plates are tied into the top plate plus 2 or 3 studs and I think the cedar trunks carry a good deal of weight to the floor.

That's one way to do it but hooks would have been so much easier

That looks like a bra hanging from the ridge line.

hahaha! Oh, I never wear a bra in the hammock! That's my HG Cuban organizer...I didn't neaten it up for the pic.

Nice! I'm moving into a house in about a month and a half and you've got the mental gears turning. The cedar looks real nice.
