I think you may have more going on than just the end of the bury. The individual strands look to be unevenly loaded. It appears that 1 or 2 of the strands may be broken or weakened and the remaining in tact strands have been pulled a little tighter.

The red arrow points to a normal or loose strand while the yellow arrow points to a strand that has been pulled tight. Indicative of a line that has broken strands.

I see what you mean. I'll have to examine that more closely.

Ahhh,,just burn it with a bic and hang on...Amsteel is tough stuff enough to use on winches of my 4 x 4 Jeep and when it frays a dash I just melt it and keep using it and it has never broken yet. I wouldn't worry myself,,but if it bothers you,,replace it for peace of mind I guess.
