Go ahead....laugh.....but let's see if yer laughing when you need to squat after say a 20 mile day in the North Cascades.

Wonder what it's made of, how much it weighs, does it pack down better than pictured. DIY project?

Yes it is - taken from their website:

    To Our Fellow Outdoor Enthusiast,

    Have you ever been:

■Out hunting and you have to take a dump?
■Hiking and need to pinch a loaf?
■Camping in an area that has no latrine facilities?
■Out fishing and feel the need to launch a torpedo?

Should be a double layer with small pockets for handwarmers (or "cheek" warmers).

gotta wonder what the load capacity is on this fella... it would really suck to have it drop ya in mid- torpedoing.

this could be the answer i was looking for....

To tell you the truth i hate squatting in the woods. I always end up leaning uncomfortably against a tree.
In fact, i am not even sure how people go in the squat position!!

I did also see either here or on BPL an idea someone had of putting a strap around a tree and around your back so you could lean into the "sitting position", looked promising.

Can someone please puchase this "gear hammock" and do a field test/ review for me. Thanks.

Yeah, but the weight would be lessening during use...
