I made one and it works OK. I put some shock cord in one end and sewed the edges shut about 15 inches up. Looking back I should have made it shorter, it covers well over my head

I made this one for my wife with a sewn foot box. It's only good to about 60-65* for her, she's a very cold sleeper.
I use mine for a bag liner with no mods. I fold it long way and tie the two corners and the middle together with the little strings built in.
I Get about 10 degrees improvement inside my bag. I'm sure it would work to 60 deg F by itself.

I have one that I use, as is. I use it I the bed at home, and i the hammock. Until last night, when in a hurry to pack everything g for an overnighter, and left it on the bed.

Shotgunred, I made a TQ of a similar loft as a poncho liner. By itself it's only good down to around 60* also. I followed up with an outer windbreaker of polyester to fit over the TQ. This gained another 10 to 15* with very little increase in weight or bulk. To get down even lower I made a fleece inner liner. With polypro long UW took this down to the mid 20's last January at the 2 Annual Florida Hang. The fleece does add quite a bit more weight and bulk but it should keep Ms. shotgunred warm.
