"A womans place is on the trail"
One thing I forgot to mention - the cross bars sit at close to six feet off the ground, meaning that the tarp, suspended from those cross bars, has enough head room to stand upright inside. When you're hauling close to a hundred pounds worth of aluminum poles, adding four pounds for a 16x16 tarp to get that kind of space really doesn't seem like much
This thing was awesome. The Mustards (lol) had this thing set up at the CO Fall Hang with a BB and a RR under it and there was plenty of room for Mustardman, Mrs.Mustardman, me, and my wife all under there while my wife and I played with the hammocks. Incredible job on this thing, it is a DIY work of art.
Off-topic: What was that string of lanterns you guys had? The solar power kit; that was great too.
That was a GoalZero Escape 150 - we paid MUCH less for ours, by buying at a traveling road show at a Costco. I think the price was something like 40% less. I actually wish the stand at Costco had offered the Expedition kit, which folds shut to protect the solar panel, and charges faster since it has a larger surface area. For the lanterns, we had three of the Light-a-Lifes chained together.
There is NO WAY I would recommend buying any of this stuff direct from Goal Zero - lots of other places sell at significant discounts, and if you can find them at your local costco, that's one of the cheapest ways to get them. We have a small backpacking kit from Goal Zero too, and it is GREAT for charging a phone or GPS. Just don't pay full retail prices, which are exorbitant.
very nice, thats a big stand...
That is so amazing!! I love the idea of hanging right next to your better half
