I'm also bringing my yak, but alas, I will only be in the lake this year. Looks like we will be adding a Kayak Korner to the list of things to see at the hang.
Races from the load/unload zone. Pack your gear into the yak, race across the lake, land your boat, retrive a flag, and back across again to set up your gear for a finish. Woohoooo to kayak hammock camping.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Why do you think Timberrr and I each have our own boats? We still love each other.

I never saw you as a quitter anyway Mark. Glad you are coming my friend!

If anyone else wants to sign up for the paddles but does not have a boat you can PM Timberrr about using ours. We have a tandem we can bring if someone wants to use it (please note: this is the honeymooner kayak. If you are beyond the honeymooner stage, management will not be responsible should attempted drowning of spouse occur). The tandem can also be used as a single.
Mark, it's pretty stable but if it helps build up your confidence, I can lash on some outriggers... maybe bring you some floaties... just ask... you know I'm there for you brother.

    First, welcome to HF!
You're currently in a planning thread for the 3rd annual Florida Hang (FH3). Finding a group hang like this would be the best place to check out different hammock set ups, meet people and ask questions.
Here in central Florida, manatees come up stream during cold snaps so for the best chance to see them you have to watch the weather and get out there quickly.

Our yaks are slow, but that sure sounds like fun!

I just might take you up on the outriggers I have to paddle Juniper Springs again, I'm not dead just yet. Plus with it being warmer this time around, the water will feel good.

Good for you Mark! Don't worry I'll give you a little lesson on bracing and leaning the right way before we shove off and it will help you learn how to handle that current. Before you know it you'll be doing whitewater in NC since you're moving there soon!!

    Thanks.
I've had that same lesson about a dozen times over the years. Very familiar with that lesson, but this old guy doesn't get it to work. I'll be ok. Water is warmer too.
    No electronics this paddle trip.
