To everyone else attending the Buck Lake gathering, I wish you all a safe trip, and hoping a great time will be had by all.

I had spoken with Terri and was planning to attend, then this morning I woke up with the pre gout symtoms. So I called her and said I would not be able to make it.

This said, I have decided to sell the gear I bought as I just dont think my health is conducive to outdoor camping. In 2010 I bought alot of new gear and have only used it a total of 5 nights since that time.

Gumbo (Terri) has the list and what I am wanting out of it.

Again, please be safe on the road and have great memories to take home.

    Sunny

Just wondering who I send my receipt to for the $75.00 of gear I just bought for this trip?

    I know my contribution!

Anyone in here curious about the hobby of metal detecting??

I own three of them; two VLF machines, and a waterproof pulse machine.
Along with digging gear, pin pointer, etc.
( If anyone understands that jargon )

I can bring them along and show people the basics if ya'll want

We wouldn't be leaving any holes, so you won't be able to tell I was even there.
I've seen some nice find's in campground lakes from people spilling over in kayaks n such.

    AW crap...never mind.....

Except for sites that occur in major recreation areas, the Forest Service does not publish the exact locations of its heritage resource sites. This measure is meant to prevent the intentional vandalism and looting of these resources. The use of metal detectors is strictly prohibited on the Ocala National Forest.

It is illegal to “dig, remove, injure or destroy any historic or prehistoric objects, ruins or sites” on federal land. “Violators subject to arrest, a maximum fine of $20,000.00, and or imprisonment.”

The Antiquities Act of 1906 and Archeological Resources Protection Act of 1979.

I would have loved a lesson since my Father-in-Law is giving me his dectector soon. I don't know what kind it is but learning is half the fun.
Also, if you chose to go for it, don't worry, I'll bond you out
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Well, it does say it's illegal to dig.... But at the same time, it's prohibited to have the detectors in general.... Could bring them, and just not dig.... But that's half the fun.

    Idk.... What to do... Lol.

If you can find out what brand and model the detector is I can give ya the skinny on it.

    Sunny,
Sorry to hear of your health situation. My daughter asks about you all the time wanting to know if we can go camping at that place where Sunny is. She only talked with you for 30 minutes two years ago, but you sure made an impression. Hope things get well for you.

    Rick
