    5 pounds bulk down $225.25

I was searching for bulk down today and came across this web site. When I called them about their bulk white goose down, they told me that the minimum order is 5 pounds , and that the fill power is 625+ . I would like something at least 750+fp, but wow what a price if someone is looking to make it themselves and doesn't mind carrying a little bit extra. That is enough down to try whatever you want.

Ohh, someone gave me a link a while back for bulk 750 down, and I lost it. All I can find is Jeff's link to hungarian goose down.

    Thanks,
    Dwight

Ed Speer sells down, "Bulk Goose Down 900 Fill Power" to be exact. You might try looking there.

Ohh I know, and I order from him too, but @ $136.67/pound, I was looking for a little cheaper source.

Hammock Engineer and I split an order of 750fp down from here. Nice, high quality stuff.

I just called this place and all I can say WHEE!!

I just talked to the receptionist lady and she was VERY helpful. Get this. You can order 800+ down from them at...(drum roll please).

    $73/lb !

"But what about the minimum order", you might ask? And I did ask.. There is a minimum order of 2 whole lbs! That's all! The catch is that there is a surcharge of 20% added to the cost per pound if you get less than 20 pounds. Still, that only brings it up to @ $87.60. I will have to see what shipping comes out to because it is coming from Canada and all that but it cant be too bad.

Feather Industries: 800+ fill power $87.60/lb
    Speer hammocks: 900+ fill power @ $160/lb (3.1 oz/$30.00)
    Thru-hiker: 800+fill power @ $139/lb (3.0 oz/$26.00)

Please let me know if my math is wrong.

The woman I spoke with gave me the email address of the company president who is the lead sales rep and said I should talk to him more about the products and ordering the stuff but she was really nice. I am excited because at this point I am at a stand still in my DIY projects because I can not quite scrape up the money for insulation to use in the things I want to make. TQ, UQ, Jackets, Hoods, whatever...

I will let you guys know if I come up with any information that makes this deal too good to be true (I am always the skeptic).

Oh, if we could come up with enough people to go in on a 20lb order we would save @ $0.90 per oz (that is not much but...)

    If it's 800+fill, I'm in.

    That's a good price.

I figured it up at one point, I don't have the time now. But the weight difference from 750-800 isn't that much. I think it came out to 2 or 3 oz. I wasn't prepared to spend twice the cost or more to save that. Something to consider.
