    DD Travel hammock opinions

I watched a bushcraft USA video about tarps the other day. I saw a hammock I had never seen before. It seems pretty good and very reasonably priced. Has anyone had any experience with these. Pros cons ??

I started my hanging career with one, exactly since it is cheap - wanted to try things out before I invested a lot. Works well enough, especially if you haven't used anything else. When I got a WBBB the difference in comfort was noticable though.

One very good feature of the DD travel is its waterproof bottom, so that you can use it as a bivy if need be. I also liked that it had zippers on both sides, so you didn't have to worry about which side goes where when setting it up.

I use and prefer my DD camping hammock ! I have never used the traveler though!the model I have is a double that allows you to get inbetween the two layers like a pod and zip yourself in ! It's perfect in the winter !

Sorry to say, never liked any of the DD hammocks, too narrow for my liking.

Never fell into the sales pitch of a waterproof bottom / bivvy bag either.

Reasonable hammock to start with if short on $ or € or £ or...

    As always: hyho...

The DD is perfect for how I sleep. I have been advised to stay away from waterproof bottom, so I own a Frontline. It is the Traveler without the waterproof bottom.

I have a circa 2008 DD Hammock in the gear closet, back then it was the only hammock I could get a comfortable lay it at 6' 2" tall and 300 lbs. It is a very nice hammock and the only think I do not like is the design of the mosquito netting. However, it's a minor annoyance.

Since then, I've discovered longer hammocks and the DD is getting retired but I still really like it.
