considering whoopie slings for 230lb guy with HH Explorer Deluxe...

is there a lot of stretch overnight?

I'd probably just order a set from whoopie slings instead of making my own...

anybody using the all-in-one from whoopie slings (with this hammock and weight)?

Well woopie's will work it just depends if you use Amsteel or Dynaglide? Amsteel you will have no problems with at your weight. Dynaglide well I've read that the max is #250 but I am 230 and use dynaglide woopies on my WBBB and have not had a problem yet and know other hangers who are heavier then me who use dynaglide with success. But ultimately its your comfort level and what margin of error you want in your suspension system. Amsteel you will get a much larger margin of error then you are going to with dynaglide. HYOH and HAYOR (Hang At Your Own Risk). Hope this helped.

I am 210 and use amsteel whoopies with no problems on a HH Explorer UL. I love them! Plus I have other items in the hammock with me that contribute a bit of extra weight. I have seen no stretch. I have a little separation of the strands at the bury, but I understand that is a normal occurence.

I used the Jacks R Better all in one suspension (whoopies clipped to straps) with my HH Explorer for about a year. During that year, I fluctuated between 230 and 245. Never had a problem.

I'm 235 and whoopies are all I use on all my hammocks. Hardly any stretch. My hammock stretches but not so much any whoopies I have. Whoopieslings makes great stuff. I have some of their whoopies and they are trouble free.

You shouldn't have any issues with whoopies. If you do notice any stretch, most likely it would be the tree straps. Whoopies are great.

Have a HHDE with whoopies, I go anywhere from 230 - 240. Never have had a problem or second thought.

I use whoopies from 1/8th Amsteel and I weigh over 300lbs. There's absolutely nothing to worry about. I even made my own whoopies, so if you went with something professional there should definitely not be a problem. Just make sure that your straps don't have any stretch and you'll be right as rain.

I used whoopie slings back when I was 300 lbs. Weight is one factor but so is the angle of suspension. At 30 degrees each end is supporting your entire body weight, not half your weight as some new hangers may think, but the closer your suspension gets to parallel, the more weight is exponetially applied to the suspension. Also there are dynamic forces to consider caused by getting in and out as well as repositioning yourself while in it. Having said all that, you should have no worries with 7/64th amsteel.

If you buy whoopie slings rather than make them, be sure to specify that they are for a HH. The whoopies need more length between the adjustable burt and the fixed eye for the wrapping of the HH ends. IIRC there is a video detailing the whoopie sling conversion for a HH.
