    Question New Hammock and Clueless

Got a hammock from Syb in the mail today. Thank You Syb, but it has 2 short aluminum tubes, straps with loop on one end and whoopies. I's thinking this is a marlin knot spike setup. Edgemacate me, PLEASE

Sounds like a Marlin Spike Hitch/Toggle/Whoopie set up to me.

Watch some of Grizz's (AKA Professor Hammock) Suspension videos for how to use.

That links directly to the part of Grizz's video about Marlinspike Hitches, and hanging a cording suspension from it.

wrap strap around tree, once, feed loose end of strap through the loop and tighten.

tie a marlin spike hitch on the long no-loop end with the toggle. Put the whoopie on the knot, not the toggle.

    Repeat for other side.

Sorry Karl. You didn't upgrade to the "Extreme Shipping" option which would have included an in-person demonstration by yours truly.

Let me know if you need anything, I'm happy to help.
