    Permethrin Expiration

You know that your permethrin has reached the end of its effectiveness when you discover a long trail of fire ants making your tarp ridgeline a handly little highway! Gesssshhhh! Does it never end!

Darn GrannyPat, first a tree tries to fall on you, and now the fireants have sent an army after you. I have to make sure I never hang near you.

Conveniently enough, Junebugdawn posted some Permethrin on the PIF forum just a minute ago...

But I don't snore as loud as some other hangers. I also got up last night to pee and sat back down on the underquilt instead of the hammock. Hit the ground, got leaves on my fleece jammies Ever tried to get leaves off of fleece? I am just a comedy of errors.

Been there, done that! I found that laying in the underquilt is not nearly as comfortable as laying in the hammock.
That taught me to wear my head lamp, even on a full moon!

Actually I can't wait to hang with you again. Maybe you can make the next SC hang. Maybe we can help you with hanging.

Thanks. I'm trying to get to the mountains before it gets too cold for my gear, but I might be able to make a Nov. hang. I'll watch the trip planning thread. Maybe I can convince my husband to come with me again. He would be much happier if it is cooler next time.

Be an interesting experiment for someone with access to Fireants, put some Permethrin on a piece of paper and put it by the nest and see if they walk on it. I wonder if they would just think it is a condiment.
