I have been quite surprised how fast my post count is going up.I haven't been padding my post count with crap posts either.I have seen some do that on other forums.Not a good idea to do that.

I think what it really targets are the shills for a product but it catches the folks who just want to dump a purchase they decided against. I see the 50 posts as a way of educating those folks. ;-)

Absolutely. Someone coming here merely to "take" doesn't get to 50 nearly as quickly as someone coming here to also do their share of "give."
Still, we welcome all sorts, including those who don't want to jump in with both feet!

One thing to be wary of is posting "Just raising my post count." On many boards that would be considered spamming.
At the present my post count is not very high, but I think what I am learner from everyone on HF is helping. I am still too much of a noob to be able to contribute to most of the discussions.
