I am in the same boat. I have been a member of the forums for a few years but don't say much. (But I have learned a ton.) I tried to log in recently to sell my SBP but found out I now need to be more talkative in order to qualify to sell it here.
29 more posts to go ha ha.. . . .
I'm more than half way there!
I took Cannibal's advice and a few other members and have double my number in a few days.
Also a good place to increase your post count is the new members introduction area. A simple welcoming is easy, and helps to set the tone of friendship and fellowship that makes Hammock Forums such a wonderful place.
And a pro tip, if you've come here just to sell something, don't spam other threads with the item you're trying to sell or silly "bump" posts. That just takes away from the fun environment we have here and is frowned upon by mods and members alike.
Happy posting, and if I haven't told you yet. Welcome to HF, the happest place between two trees.

Catavarie, that no longer holds true- posts in 'introduction' don't count any more. This is because people were posting 50 'welcome from Idaho!' in quick succession, like spam, almost, and so they ruined it.
Folks, don't ask questions in the "Introduce Yourself" forum...

I think it is rather ridiculous. Pretty soon you will have to have 100 posts just to converse with anyone on this forum
It would be ridiculous if you had to have 100 posts to converse with others. Particularly since conversing requires posting and you can't do that until you hit 100.
The only thing this limits, is the privilege of selling items on the forum, or participating in the Pay It Forward. It has zero impact on your ability to converse with others.
Trust nobody!
I just find it pretty darn ridiculous. At first you had to have 15 posts to sell stuff, then it was 35 posts in order to sell stuff, now it's up to 50 posts. I have sold plenty of gear in the past in the for sale forum and all the buyers were pleased with the gear I sold them, and now I have to go around finding threads to contribute to just to get up to 50 posts so I can attempt to sell more gear.
