Okay, a couple of friends and I do some backpacking/camping (all three different hammocks). We hang in a triangular shape with the fire in the center. Because of this we will often hang our tarps on the backside (outside) of the triangle with the bottoms as close to the ground as possible with the tops angled inward (Lean-To Style). It not only protects from rain, it helps keep some of the heat from the fire in the area.
I am considering a way to adhere a space blanket to the inside of the tarp in order to reflect more of the heat from the fire. I hear rumor that REI sells such tarps, but I would imagine that it'd be cheaper/easier to DIY.
I wonder if anyone here has done so, and what they use as an adhesive. My initial thought is just some 3M adhesive spray, but I don't know yet if the chemical will react to the space blanket in a negative way. I have read and searched some on the DIY portion of the forum and haven't really seen anything on this.
Any ideas from you amazingly bright and learned hangers?
