    New Camera

I am going to have to replace my old canon point & shoot as it has had some spills and tumbles. I am looking for a small light weight camera that still uses AA or AAA batteries. I have done some research and was leaning toward the Canon A1300. Does anyone have any relevant suggestions? I want to stay under $150, as my 8 year old grandson will be using it on trips also.

    Thanks

That one is $99 on Amazon. Should be fine. I like to see them in person before ordering them, just to see if they fit my hand and so on, but I expect it would be like most Canons and do a good job.

    Good luck,

I just started playing around with my old a620. It uses 4 AA batteries and was always a good camera. I found a hack for it that lets it save RAW files, so I'm really stoked about that.

Not sure on the quality but the Nikon Coolpix S30 takes AA batts and is waterproof+shockproof, can be had for <=100$ here is the link to the Nikon site for info:

You can get them at Walmart too (also in different colors if that matters??)...
