I just bought my wife a hammock and tarp, made her an underquilt and took her to the woods.......... Now she has tasked me with finding a way to hang them in the bedroom!

I think I won.... Except when I have to clean up after projects.

Surfer you've got it bad. The first step in overcoming an addiction is admitting you have one. I'm glad you have a loving family that cares enough to intervene. As a counselor I'm willing to help also. The next step you need to take will be hard, but the rewards will be worth it. Gather all your hammocks, tarps, slings, quilts, all of it and mail it to me. I'll take good care of it. Do.t wworry, I'm not an addict so it won't cause me any problems.

Six hammocks and six tarps? Sounds like an obsession to me. I only have five, therefore I'm not obsessed ... yet.

Is it obsessive when driving down the road and see a stand of trees and you are picking out which trees to hang from.

True words. Most of my hobbies are mis-understood. But I just never understand their attraction to golf, poker, fantasy football or jogging.

I think it was Old Gringo that compared Hammocks to underwear... you can't just have one. . .

No... that's not obsessive.. that's planning... Now and then I'll go to the dollar store with the boy... he's now coming to me with doo-dads for use in the hammock! I also find myself in the hardware store, looking at random stuff and wondering how it can be adapted to hammock or tarp use...

    Obsessive? No... well... maybe...

Good reading for a Saturday morning.

    Good laugh.

Good obsession. One of my favorite obsessions also.
( Right up there with homemade Spritz cookies ( butter cookies ) and oatmeal cookies ).

I would take each episode of remarks as an invitation to pack up the hammock and set out to prove the wife (& family) she was wrong by camping for a couple of days - IN PEACE!

Maybe even return with a small bottle of the clear yellow stuff just to calm thier fears that you aren't bleeding to death.
