    When packing away your hammock...

Do you do anything special with your suspension? I notice that using whoopie slings and a structural ridgeline, I've got lots of line going in there and I concern myself over whether or not it's gonna come back outta the bag like a bird's nest.

That said, this isn't really a thread about suspensions, but more about how you pack your hammock back up. Even with a bishop bag (one of which I want, and is on my "to make" list), there's still line everywhere I assume.

I've never had an issue with it. I just stuff them in the bag.

I wrap my lines around the bag for my hammock. Similar to what I do with my snake skins.

Since I use inverted whoopies, I just wrap them up and put them in a stuff sack! My hammock is in a bishop bag!

This keeps my wet suspension separate from my dry hammock, life is good.....

Another Bishop Bag user that wraps the straps outside of the bag. I've seen a number of folks that put 'suspension pockets' on their stuff sacks, or Bishop Bags, in order to stow the suspension. Probably would be useful when putting away a hammock after a night's rain, but I've never bothered.

I made a basically small bishop bag sewed it down the middle to separate the two sides and sewed it to my hammock's bishop bag. I put my hammock in the it's bb with the whoopie hanging out both ends. I put a strap and a whoopie in each side. This way it doesn't matter if the straps or slings are wet or get sap on them. This also keeps them from getting tangled with other lines. Works for me.

+1. Though I also made a very small bag to put the huggers in to keep things from getting sappy. But the whoopies themselves get tossed in with the hammock and SRL and whatever else.

Same here. I like suspension separate from hammock.

I roll from each end towards the center where the stuff sack is stitched to the side of the hammock then stuff it into the sack. Tree straps then get rolled up and stuffed on top. I am looking at making a separate stuff sack for the tree straps to prevent sharing sap with the hammock.
Happy Trails to one and all.
