    Finished my new hammock today!

I finished my new hammock today and I'm so happy.. Been slow going, working on it here and there whenever I had time. It's 1.6 HyperD from RSBTR with an integrated bug net and an inside storage pocket. It's 11ft long by about 58in wide.

I went with crimson stitching and some red accents to make it pop

And here is the inside pocket

    And " top down"20160808_145957.jpg
I also got some of the new poly/dynema webbing from Make Your Gear for Tree straps

    First impressions:
I love the HyperD material. Super soft and easy to work with. Just enough stretch so it doesn't feel stiff. Haven't had time for more than just a few minute test hangs but great stuff. Also I'm digging the webbing from Dutch. Lightwieght and tough. Not flimsy at all. A bit thicker and stiffer than regular polyester straps. Haven't tried them with cinch buckles yet, that's next.

So on to the next project. A climashield underquilt from the RSBTR 3/4 length kit. Oh joy.

Very cool. I used the same material and am completely happy with my hammock.

Very nice work. Do you have any close up pics of the zipper attachment? I'm thinking of retrofitting one of mine and wanted to get some ideas.

Nice job. How long did it take you to do the entire hammock?

Very well done. I envy your bug net, and I like the red contrast stitching.

Excellent job! I keep trying, but I lack the patience I think to do an attached bugnet. Something about it eludes me every time.

Yeah, liking the idea of contrasting stitching, just need to get bold and do it.

Love the inside pocket, great spot. On the larger hammocks, I'm never anywhere near that area (peaks) and it's smart to make use of the space.

    Great colors, kev! Looking good.

No my stitching only looks good at a distance. I followed the Dave Xtrekker method. Hemmed the hammock, attached the zipper to the hammock. Then turned it inside out and hung it taught at a height I could reach easily. Pinned the shock cord on where the tie outs are and pulled them out to get the shape I wanted. Draped the bug net over it and pinned it to the zipper then cut it to shape. Didn't use enough pins so when I went to sew it it shifted. Got almost to the end and the whole thing was off. Ripped the stitches and re pined it. Used a pin every 3 in or so that time and it worked out.
Check out Xtrekker's series of videos on making a Hammock. Very informative and easy to follow.
