    Hammock Fabric Question

I see Rip Stop Nylon available in a variety of colors at Joann's Fabrics and it is listed as:

100% nylon, Fabric Weight 64 GSM, 59" wide

Is this the stuff I want for a hammock? It is different than the 1.1 or 1.9 metric that is referenced in many posts for a weight descriptor.

It is 1.9 oz and frequently used to make hammocks.

I made a double later out of the Joann stuff and it is bomb proof. Not the lightest by any means, but I can bounce and jump around in it with no Worries.
