There's only a couple left of the 7 reg. (89.95), one of the 7 short (79.95), and a few of the 9 reg. (99.95). Free shipping, when they're gone, they're gone!

What a deal! I ordered two of the downmat 7s, will be returning my recently purchased synmats to REI as soon as the downmats get here.
Thanks so much for finding this!

All glory to the hypnotoad!
I am not familiar with the down mats...please excuse my ignorance! Can one of you tell me how well these work with a hammock. Can they be used well on ground? High maintance? any other good / bad things about them. Thanks!
I have the synmat, which is the same thing only filled with synthetic insulation instead of down. It's great! If you get the DLX version, it's a bit wider than a normal thermarest mat, so it covers your shoulders better in the hammock. The insulation value of the downmat is also about two to three times that of a thermarest, depending on the model you get, so it should keep you much warmer.
Some people don't like mats in hammocks, and some do - if you like mats in a hammock you should like the downmat quite a lot.
They are also awesome on the ground, as that is their intended use.
Goldbond, here's a thread on the Exped 9 Deluxe Down Mat. You might want to do a search on Exped to see if there are any others out there.
How well they work depends on what you want to use them for, IMO. You need to look closely at the weight and width of the various models. I'm finding that I really like my 9 Deluxe for cold weather car camping. It's a heavy, large volume mat so I need to decide if I can carry that kind of weight and volume for backpacking. But if it keeps me so warm that I can leave other things behind, it might be worth it. Also depends how far I would be hiking in. I'm not sure yet because I'm just getting into cold weather camping.
I just spent 4 nights in my HH Backbacker with my Deluxe 9 and was very comfortable and extremely warm -- even hot. Lowest temp was about 37 degrees with cold wind blowing on and off through night. I can definitely go to lower temp in hammock.
There's a fiddle factor, especially with the stuff sack pump. My bag pump seemed to stay attached much better than Merry Mary's. She had the 7 Short mat. The valves looked exactly the same. We were both fooling with hers and both having the same problem of keeping it attached????

Great, my paycheck thanks the hypnotoad! I been waiting a new pad anyways since my Big Agnus starting no longer holding air.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
The hanger formly known as "hammock engineer".
Thanks Hypnotoad! (the Futurama series was, and still is my favorite)
Hopefully the 20" will be wide enough for my Clark NA - couldn't be any worse than the thin little thermarest I've been using though, which is just marginal. I'm hoping the thicker Downmat will improve hammock spread.
