    Sleeping Warmth

I have recently purchased a Hammock Gear 20*F Incubator underquilt to try with my BBWB D1.1 but have no top quilt. Heading out on a hike expecting low teens and snow. Two questions is there a Top Quilt for a 6' 2" 210lb guy under $200.00 and if not how effective is using an underquilt with a Northface 20* cats meow sleeping bag?

Sleeping bags will work just fine. The only real difference is you're carrying 1/2 a quilt more weight. I suspect most folks just open the bag and use it like you would a top quilt. It's just easier than trying to climb into a bag from within the hammock.

I started out using Big Agnes sleeping bags when I first hammocked,,and they work fine,,even the down sleeping bags are a dash heavier than a quilt. But they work! And as you look around at our cottage makers, you will find most make a long style quilt to fit the larger guys as well as custom make you any size. You can even look in the For Sale section and occasionally find one on sale by a forum member. Good luck and happy hanging!
