    Newbie HH dude

Well, I ordered my HH Expedition classic from their odds and end sale.
I've never hung one or slept in one. Been reading stuff here and there on hammocks.

One question I have to ask is did I get the right size. I'm 6 foot, and a little over 200. The weight appears fine but what about my height?

I read a review where the guy said he was 6 foot and it was too small and then read another review where the guy said he was 6'2" and it was fine.

I'd love hear from you all on my question and any newbie advice.

Would be great to sleep comfortably in the woods again.

    thanks.

I'm 5'11" and find it a bit cramped. I have since drunk the "11 ft. hammock Kool-Aid" and will never go back to a shorter hammock.

Till I tried an 11 ft. hammock, I thought the HH Expedition was comfortable. Take my advice and don't try an 11 ft. hammock. You'll be happier with your Hennessy.

I'm 5'11", I slept in an Expedition for a while (and slept well, compared to the ground) but I don't regret going to the larger Explorer. That said, you'll never really know until you try it.

Comfort is an art, not a science.

I am 5'6" and 200lbs, and find my son's Expedition a bit too cramped for me, but my HH Explorer Deluxe to be perfect.

Others have differing results. Try it, see how it works, and change it out if it doesn't.

    thank you for the input.

As most of you said, I'll just need to try it out.

I do find Troop2011ScoutMaster comments encouraging though.

    hopefully it comes in today.

I have the Deep Jungle XL and the Hyperlite and find them both comfortable. I am 5'11. I do find the DJ XL more comfortable though.

6'. 175 lbs here. I sleep in a HH Exp Asym. It's a little cramped but is so much more spacious and comfortable than my Mountain Hardware single person tent (never have I ever has as much condensation build up as I have in that thing...)

I haven't really tried any other hammocks. I'm afraid if I do, I'll be out searching for a new hammock. :-)

    Hey D,
I'm also a HH user...i have the Deluxe explorer...I'm 6'0 220 and i'll tell you what i do appreciate the extra room. I thought about the smaller size due to weight savings but the freedom I get from having such extra space is worth the few extra ounces. Did you get the classic entry or the Zip model? Big difference there as well. Good luck with your new gear...you'll love it.
