I've just gone over 50 posts and realised that I never did introduce myself. Generally I prefer to approach group situations quietly but now I'm here I may as well let it be known.
I live in the UK. Been hammocking for a good few years now since I found Just Jeff's excellent introduction and DIY instructions. Can't thank you enough Jeff.
I'm into ultralight, diy, solo, hiking. With the emphasis on solo. I've got nothing against those who arrange or seek out group hangs, but for me solo is the only way to go.
Since discovering that hammocks suit me I've had some of the best nights sleep I've ever had. Not only while hiking but ever!
Like many, I regularly fight a personal battle to stop myself buying hammock related stuff that I learn about here, but often I find that those things aren't needed anyway and I get much more satisfaction finding DIY solutions that suits my style. After all hammocking is just cloth, cord, feathers and a little knowledge. (and that knowledge is generously given away freely here).
Anyhow, please don't bother with all the welcomes and hellos etc. We're already beyond that stage. But I would like to say thanks for letting me in and for sharing all that you've got give. Hope I can add to it in some way.
Hang in there.
