    Handy Hammock

Just saw this. Another interesting idea for hanging where no trees available.

Very interesting. $160 for the stand and the hammock. Looks like you could modify a current hammock with the ring on a continuous loop and use another hammock. This is a lot like Alamosa's except for the stake. I prefer Alamosa's boom stake but this is a good production alternative.
    Thanks for posting.

This looks cool. It will be interesting to hear the feed back and see the reviews once this gets out into the wild

It probably needs a hammock that allows a diagonal lay and it will be interesting to see how long the nylon parts last...but with that said...I think we will be hard pressed to come up with a lighter or more compact design for the stand.

    Very interesting indeed...thanks for posting.

There are options that are less costly, light, and easy to carry. My only beef with that design is one failed guy line and everything goes crashing to the ground.
Nothing to see here. Keep moving.

That's pretty darn neat, and it seemed very solid. I also like how compact it is. Now what to do with the tarp?

Like the stand. Don't like the hammock. Just my 2¢. Thanks for posting this interesting idea!

SCWalker, are you talking about production or homemade options?

I agree that one broken line and your on the ground. I don't know what they are using for their lines but I would amsteel is used. We are all one failed line away from being on the ground.

So I just looked up the Handy Hammock, and they are using Dyneema for the guy lines. I'm good with that.
