    Woopie damage

    Hi guys,

A few weeks back I went out and bought some Amsteel and made myself 2 pairs of woopie slings. Now I am new to working with Amsteel but I took my time and I 'believe' that the slings were well made - I may have got this wrong!

I have used my first pair of slings on two occasions both without incident however I when I was packing my kit away yesterday I noticed that, the holes on the free end of the bury has become enlarged and look stretched. I have no idea how this has happened. Should I be concerned, is still safe to use? What did I do wrong? Is there a way of fixing the damage? Is there a way to avoid it from happening again?

    Thanks

    Stutho

That's pretty normal. Not anything to be concerned about just be sure you milk the bury good when you set up and you will be fine. I have slings on my rig that are way more stretched out at the mouth than that and don't think twice about it.

Not having anything to compare my slings to means that I probably worry too much!

As pgibson has said, its nothing to worry about. Mine are also stretched more than this and yours will likely stretch more with use. It's just the braid opening up locally where the inner passes through. You aren't the first to worry when seeing it for the first time.
