That is true about Cooper, we were at the South area. You could tell the park service put in a lot of $$ for all the camp sites. But I didn't even think about "hanging" while there.

I'm still in. Just need a destination.

Looking at Google maps... anyone done Martin Creek State Park?
Martin Creek is a power plant lake. It has several hiking trails and open water. The island is really nice, but requires a small hike of about 400 ft. across a bridge. Plenty of room and good access. Showers and rest rooms available.

A lot of trees for hang, but the power plant goes all night. There is plenty of light, noise, trains and whistles all night long. Good coves on the lake and popular for fishing. Not nearly as nice as Caddo for paddlers. No Cypress to speak of.

The water only sites at Caddo are off limits due to the bridge replacement leading into those sites. They do have plenty of the tent/rv sites available which they tell me do have plenty of trees...

This might work, if there are enough trees.

Tim and I are sitting in my living room batting this around, and haven't come up with anything that will handle a large group, other than Fairfield.

No one will hurt my feelings if they bail for Lost Maples. Caddo is toast, at least, for now.

Tim, do you have a sitrep regarding Fort Parker? Never been there but have heard others talk about it. What's it like?

Fort Parker has about half a dozen primitive sites that would be great for about a dozen hammocks. The RV sites compare to a KOA.
