Yeah trees can be a bit sparse next to the ocean, they tend to be small and twisted from the wind and salt spray.
I was scouting out potential campsites during the days paddle, chose that one as the best available and came back to it after everyone else went home.

Within sheltered bays and rivers there are lots more trees to choose from.

The advantage of the DD traveler is it makes a really good bivy for if you are stuck sleeping on the beach.
It opens up into a big square with waterproof base, a pair of split paddles make good poles for a triangle frame. At least safe from the sandflys and mozzies and dry.
Thats the plan anyway
