Choice of material for hammock body?

Would Spinntex EXP work for a hammock body that will be used in cool to colder (<50F) conditions? Right now my body vapor passes through the 1.1 nylon on the Blackbird, through the Mt.Washington underquilt and is condensing or freezing on the outer shell of the quilt. Or it's ground/atmospheric moisture condensing and freezing on the quilt. Spinntex should work like a built in vapor barrier, but will I end up with a soggy? Figured it cannot be much different than sleeping on a ccf pad. The people with Cuben hammocks seem not to complain. If Spinntex works for cold anyone have an idea how warm you can go?

exactly so. or slipping a space blanket between the pad of an HH supershelter and the hammock body. The only difference in the latter case being that there is one "absorbing" layer of fabric between you and the vapor barrier.

I'm figuring to have a layer of sil or space blanket between my hammock body and underquilt this winter...because the lower body of my (gotta be careful here, Coffee might be reading) Hammock Microclimate Containment Device is sil. I don't want vapor coming off me and getting stuck in the quilt. Last winter I did something similar with no ill effects to report. Sadly I did not get out as much as I'd like though either...

As for Spinntex, I don't think that me or anyone within 50 yards of me would get much sleep for all the crackling noise it would make as I move

yeah, a sb between the uq and the hammock would be one easy option that would tell you if the condensation on the uq is coming from you or not. a sil hammock would probably work well in cool weather. don't know the strength of spinntex though. momentum probably wouldn't be too much different than what you've got. the base fabric is just a little lighter, they both have high quality dwr. (compared to the blackbird 1.1 fabric).

my cuben speer type H ,I use with a 3/4 down UQ. (modified Nanatuk bag sans foot box)I sewed.35/yd cuben to the underside of the UQ, (so I have C-fabric -down -fabric,UQ. then(hammock,) C. i have no condensation probs. use a nanatuk down bag as an over quilt,with foot box. gnome

wow, that's interesting, no condensation and the inner shell of the uq is breathable while the outer shell is not.
