I was splicing 1.75 Zing It today for a new tarp and decided to make a video to go with this pictorial.
So here's another of my usual out of focus poor quality videos of splicing a fixed eye with locked brummel in 1.75 Zing It with an eye already completed on the other end representing ~4.5 minutes of your life you'll never get back if you care to watch (and yes, I really butchered the taper)...
I've only worked with the 2.2 and not the 1.75 but I found it pretty easy. The "relax" part comes from what hand is doing what. I basically push the zing it over the wire instead of trying to push the wire "through" the zing it. By doing so, it pushes the "chinese handcuffs" open and lets the wire and piece of cord I'm trying to bury slide through easier. You can't force this stuff at all. It has jbasically zero stretch and is way stronger than your fingers.....
stainless fishing leader works well with Zingit as described above. Unsure of the diameter. Most fishing shops and Walmart carry it.
We also use scotch tape at an oblique/taper initiated on the zingit bitter end up to about 1/2 inch up to the wire.
This wire also works well rigging with 7/64th w-sling.
I also carry a small piece in my pack, it's almost as handy as ducktape :-) ;
almost...
