    All-In-One: HH Tarp Attachment Points?

Hello Stu and everyone! I finally installed All-In-Ones on my HH Exp and I've noticed that attaching the prussic mitten hook and stock tarp to the suspension is specifically mentioned as not doable in many posts as well as Stu's installation video.

Why is this? I haven't tried anything yet - will be hanging on the new suspension tonight at MAHHA - but couldn't the mittens be attached to the fixed loop below the ring? Or perhaps to the ring itself on each side?

Just wondering how to get the stock tarp back on the suspension for ease of setup. I know I probably sound like a crybaby, but I really want to avoid carrying another set of tree straps for a separate tarp suspension.

    Thanks for your ideas!

hang the tarp on the tree, not the hammock, has been the refrain for many years now, for a tighter tarp.

Airsafety, we have found that putting the prusik loop/hook on the double line of the AIO attachment loop was not optimal. It requires more than the average AIO customer wants to do and it requires a significantly longer attachment loop. One can do it on the single line of a whoopie sling or as Titanium Hiker stated, the best way is to hang the tarp separately.

But you shouldn't need any straps for your tarp, just some light weight line.

    Thanks for your replies!

I attached the HH tarp to the carabiners last weekend, which seemed ok. The tarp ridgeline wasn't perfectly crisp, but I'm ok with that. I seem to be a ranger-magnet wherever I go, so I want to show zero impact to the trees when they come around to say hello (I'm also the guy who *always* gets selected for additional TSA screening, the guy who gets followed for miles by a police car for no reason, etc. I live a charmed life, I guess.)

I'll suck it up and carry an extra set of tree huggers for the tarp just so I can have a clear conscience about tree damage and make a good show for the park police.

Understood, ranger magnet! What about rigging up a way of attaching the tarp to the tree huggers you are already using? Or to the MSH or toggle, if you are using something like that? Just trying to figure a way for zero impact without having to carry extra huggers.

Good deal on making it work. Bummer on being "that guy" But I know the feeling as I swear my picture is behind the airport x-ray machines.

It's also a requirement during the florida state park hang trial, to have straps for tarp lines.
