    tarp material

    could i use 100% polyster for a tarp??
    It's not the fall im scared of, it's the sudden stop at the end!!!

    If it's somehow waterproof (PU coated) then yes.

    i would silconize it myselfe. i can get that matrieal easer than ripstop

    Then absolutely yes. Polyester typically has less stretch and is more UV resistant than nylon.

    after i resarched it i found that some is lighter than 1.1 nylon, i found a 20d ripstop polyster that weighs in at 1.0 oz s/m

    Where did you find 20d ripstop polyester? Before the advent of cuben fiber for tarps, there were spinnaker tarps. Which was a silicone impregnated ripstop polyester. They were a little lighter than silnylon and had the benefit that they didn't stretch. However most makers of spin tarps stopped making them as the fabric became less waterproof to the point of being no good for tarps.

    if you have new builds in ur area check out some tyvek. some give away free scraps

    I am a carpenter and have tyvek readly available and dont want to use it i dont think it will pack down ,nor do i want a white tarp
