    Hang Loose

    Hawaiian style!

Took a vacation to Hawaii for two weeks (oh yeah, got married somewhere in there, too) and of course took a hammock with me. Just a basic Grand Trunk Ultralight with home-made Amsteel woopies.

Here's the beach outside our room at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. A couple of palm trees were just waitnig for me

What are all these people doing laying in the sand?

One of our activities was a hike thru a rain forest to Maunawili Falls. Along the way we took a side stream just off the beaten path for a break.

We also spent a day snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Again, all these people and not one person taking advantage of these palm trees

An excellent view from my hammock

At first she was skeptical about all this hammock business, but after seeing how comfy they are, the quick and easy set-up, and compact size...I think I've now convinced the Missus she needs one of her own.

Great shots. My wife and I went to Hawaii when her brother was stationed there; snorkeled there at the bay. Beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. thanks for taking us along.

    Better with a hammock

Great story! Thanks for sharing. Two birds with one stone, get married and what I like to call elevating someone's perspective on hiking (converting).

    Congrats on the marriage...

I was stationed in Hawaii and this brought back some sweet times. Wish I had a hammock back when I was at Hanama Bay.
