    Big Man?

I am brand new to this forum. I'm very interested in Hammock camping, my question is this. I am 6'3" 330 lbs. will a DIY hammock work for me? I was looking at this fabric http://duroindustries.com.s134272.gr...n-DWR-finished
    Thank you for your help

There are many your size and more who DIY their own hammocks. Most make a double layer style for safety. Check out the DIY Gear Supply website for a design. I made my first hammock this way. Scott also has some nice fabric choices as well. The weight fabric you reference is commonly used by hefty hangers. I'm sure there will be more replies following with good advice too.

I'm 6' 4" and 300lbs. I made a double layer hammock out of 1.9 oz. ripstop and hang it on 1/8" amsteel whoopies and straps from wratchet straps . it diesn't even flinch when i get in it. diy away . you'll have fun , and prolly wind up with 4 or 5 projects lined up on your table to complete.
