Great trip report and photos. Sounds like you had a great time.

You are a brave person, if I had to scare a bear from campsite in the afternoon, I would have bear bagged a 1/4 mile away from there and probably would not have cooked any dinner that night. I know I would have been up all night with my food underneath me....wow
Interesting. One of the many reasons for being unhappy with the elimination of bails on most cooking pots is the number of times I have tied one to a piece of rope to get water from an otherwise unreachable place. Sounded like a fun trip. Thanks for posting!
Thanks everyone for your responses!
Great trip report! It still amazes me how many people don't understand that in order to see and experience some of the really neat stuff in nature requires that you slow down completely and just watch and listen for extended periods of time. That is when the neat stuff really starts popping out but it takes time.
I'm glad you had some time to recharge your batteries (I just returned from a non-hammocking trip to recharge mine) and it was safe too (hang your food man! )
Will you be able to make it to my hang next month?

Hi Dave! That sounds like a perfect trip!
I can't imagine lolligaging all day in a tent - this is what hammocks are made for! Thanks for sharing your peaceful moment!

Sounds like a great trip. I bet it was the bear that came back...it probably circled you in the woods trying to get a scent check without having to come out into the open. I have deer do that to me all the time while hunting.
Now you've got me wanting to get into the woods!
