Ridge line too tight after whoopsie sling installation.

So I finally got to hang with my new suspension and under quilt. I noticed now though that the ridge line is considerable tourer now no matter how I angled the suspension. It's as if its been shortened or something. I remember seeing in the video that the warbonnet bb is supposed to have some play in the ridge line. There is no play anymore now that the whoopsies are on. Has this happened to anyone else. I'm postitive they have been installed correctly.

How long is your RL now after installing the new suspension?

That shouldn't be the case. The type of suspension should have no affect on ridgeline tension when installed properly.

It sounds like you are tightening your whoopies too much, or your trees are too far apart, or both. Loosen them up a bit, raise them a bit higher on the tree if you have to, then see how taut the hammock ridgeline is.

double check that when you where removing the loop w/ the triangles, you didn't somehow wrap the ridge line around the gathered knot before running the whoopie fixed loop through the ridge line loop. maybe?

Pics would help, as would knowing how far your trees or anchor points are apart, how high up the tree you have your straps, etc.

What Knotty says...the suspension type shouldn't make a difference. Being hung too tight could.

And Flatline makes a good point...make sure the RL didn't get twisted in the installation of the slings. It should pass straight through the end of the hammock.

Make sue you ran the whoopie slings through the black ribbon loops as well. Not doing that can harm the structural integrity.

Id go with what surfer said. When I put mine up between trees that r farther then normal in distance, the Srl gets tight. Not a big deal.
