    D Ring Question

Are there any D rings out there, say 1", that are load rated?

I have to be able to switch out the suspension system on a planned bridge hammock to accommodate both outside and indoor hanging and would like to put something smaller than the bigger rings.

Yes, parachutes use them. Try paragear.com

    Thanks you.

I found a couple that would be suitable but paragear has a minimum order to meet that's way over what I need. When I add in international shipping, I'd be paying more for 4 d rings than for the material for the hammock...sigh!

Anyone else have a supplier I can try?

Have you given any thought to using continuous loops made out of 7/64 Amsteel from Whoopieslings in place of a d-ring?

Would SMC descender rings do what you want? They are strong, cheap & and very light. I use two of them on each end with straps on my rig.

    Got mine at REI.

I'm going to have to go with the SMC descender rings. They're a little large for the application but I can order them along with all the rest of my 'parts list' so I'm not dealing with way too many shipping charges. When you live in Canada, ordering multiple items from one supplier becomes a SOP..

I was just daydreaming of having a neat little D ring at each of the 4 corners of my bridge hammock cause I have to swap out suspension systems each time I go from the indoor stand to heading outside.

    SMC descender rings it is!
