    Glenwood Canyon Colorado Overnite hang

It's about a 2 hour drive West, over the continental divide, from my house to Dotsero, CO the entrance to Glenwood Canyon.
I did this trail as an out and back with a hang in there some where along the way.
Riding from Dotsero to Glenwood Springs then back to the car the following morning.

A highlight which I did not get any pictures of was at the end of this trail, Glenwood Springs CO
has one of the largest outdoor Hot Springs Pool in the state.
An hour soak took all the pain away and I was ready to go find
    two trees for the night.

Addtional info on this Rails to Trails path

Link to ~60 photos of this trip on facebook.... I hope

This is the Dotsero TH parking lot.

Filtered water for the trip about 3 qts. It's 7am and 46F. The high for the day got to 65F.

Didn't take long for this beautiful canyon to blow my mind and I had the place to myself.

    Coffee Break

Time to start looking for 2 trees my legs are tired and I am ready to eat.

This will have to do, can you spot the hammock and quilt?

Everything was so dry and windy it was hard to locate a good place to cook.

    The view from the hammock

That’s not even a little bit fair! I’d love to do that ride, it looks like you had great weather too! Nice bike, by the way.

Ya know what I love about your trips?!? EVERYTHING!
Beautiful area of the country, heck, even the bridges in your pictures look cool!

BTW, I see a GPS unit on your bike - Ever do any geocaching? Looks like a prime area . . . (yeah, that's another passion of mine that ties in nicely with hammock camping )

I bet that swimming hotspring would really make a tired set of legs feel great. Looks like a wonderful place for a trip, even if it was just an overnighter.

Thanks Bruciehi5. If you ever make it over to Colorado I would be happy to be your personal guide to some of the best this state can offer.

If interested, I have about 60 more photo of this trip loaded up on my facebook page. I hope this link works.

    Thanks Klauss.
I love using my GPS since I can get lost even in down town Denver.
I have read about geocaching but never tried it.

For some soaking in the hot spring makes them tired for me I am recharged and ready to ride more.
The canyon is only ~20 miles long and could be view in one days ride however if you like day hiking, fishing, or just hanging out and reading by the river
you could spend several days in the canyon and not get tired of it.

There is a day hike I'd like to take the next time I go back. It's called Hanging Lake.

Let me know when you get back in town. I'm always looking for a good excuse to go hang my hammock.
