Is a Hennessy asym really a flatter lay?

So I already have a eno double and single nest and the whole bugnet and tarp deal. I like it, but I'm a side sleeper and i really like a flatter lay. Sure you can lay on an angle to get a flater lay, but overnight as I toss and turn a regular hammock seems to slowly shift my body back to center and in that "bow" shape

I actually like my current Eno setup, I put money into it to modify it exactly the way I like it with whoopie slings, a ridgeline and a gear hammock below, and my entire ENO setup is a few ounces lighter than a standard zip Hennessy asym expedition.

I'm willing to start over with a the standard hennessy expedition if the lay is significantly flatter. However if the difference in minor, I think I will keep the ENO setup, and maybe use the $150 on something else.

Can anyone who owns both a Hennessy Asym and an ENO help me out.

it is flat, as long as you find the sweet spot, just like any other gathered end hammock, I think the side pullouts help a bit, but... if you can borrow one before spending the money

Get a BIAS 11ft hammock, it's so flat I have to have a clothing pillow. I had an ENO and couldn't get 100% flat, now I have a BIAS and I'm in heaven.

I've been getting that "it's time to upgrade" feeling as well. I had no problem buying my ENO set up because I didn't know squat about hammocks but know that I've discovered all of these options I'm almost too afraid to make a purchase not knowing what I really want. I stuck between a WBBB, HHAsym, or just buying a thread injector and making my own, lol.

I don't find a big difference in the HH and the Eno single. I agree that a longer hammock may be what you want. I've got a HH expedition, and it's a fine hammock, but I don't think it's near as comfy as my Lite Owl. That being said, I did a DIY from tableclothefactory and it was very nice (and very cheap.) If you have an opportunity to go to a local hang, you could try out some other hammocks and get a feel for them.

I have both a HH Explorer and an ENO DN. The ENO has its uses but for comfy all night sleep gimme the Explorer. I sleep on my side half the time in it with no problem. I just hang the foot end about 3 inches higher and never have a prob sliding back into the middle line. But YMMV. As stated try to attend a hang in your area and see what alls out there. Many will let you try things out. Good luck with your search.

I sleep full time in my hammock and slept in my HHDJ for several months before switchig to an ENO DN, not because I was dissatisfied with the DJ, but to make it easier to take camping.

The DJ is much more comfortable and roomy and I find I can sleep on my side with the pull outs deployed. My UQ is a bit short and while camping in 50 degree weather this weekend I found the top of my head was getting cold. I just turned onto my side and went into a modified fetal postion to pull the UQ over my head. I doubt I could do that in the ENO.

I've got an Expedition now and will be testing it out as my full timer soon.

Completely agree, have both and they are two totally different hammocks. I sleep on my side and stomach in the HH but, I am only 5'6". I still like my eno DN though.

Would adding tie outs to the ENO DN (by stitching anchor points on the extra flaps) make much of a difference?
