Request for a video / new suspension system

    Hi all -
I am a noob at hammocking in general. I can say I'm now the proud owner of a WBBB and a HG Phoenix.

I am struggling with following the fine instructions put together on how the new primary and secondary suspensions work. I've watched some of the older vids like Shug's that cover the topic generally.

Anybody up to creating a quick vid showing how all this works?

I will be at a group hang soon, so if I don't get something here, I'm sure one of the more experienced ppl can help.

I believe that Adam is actually trying to set up some videos for their site. Not sure how close they are to it but it has definitely been mentioned.

    Thanks.
I'm guessing it might be awhile since they are probably busy so I was hoping another experienced HF member might do it.

    Hi TallPaul,

Congratulations on your new gear. I have a WBBB 1.7 & Incubator. The new UQ suspension is really quite simple when you get over the two cord thing. The traditional suspension running through the side channels has always been popular, especially on 2/3 or 2/4 quilts, where you can slide the whole quilt up and down the suspension to change its coverage. Shug shows this well in his videos. However, heavier winter quilts sometimes had a tendency to sag a little in the middle overnight, creating a gap under your butt. HGs secondary suspension allows you to set the position of the quilt along the length of the channel suspension and stops it from sagging overnight by holding the four corners of the quilt.

My Incubator came with the thicker channel suspension tied at a set length. This is nice and tight when fitted to the hammock, lifting the whole hammock up (when I'm not in it). I just snugged the secondary suspension up to match and left it at that, with no problems. I would recommend you have someone lay in your hammock while you tweak the suspension. It helps to see what's going on.

    Hope that helps .
