    breathable heat reflective fabric?

Is there such thing as breathable heat reflective fabric?
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I know that the Columbia Omni-Heat base layer is breathable and heat reflective.

Are you looking for a fabric for hammock/TQ/UQ construction or for insulation? As a add on layer to a UQ I've had good luck with Insulfleece by Pellon. It's a fleece coated perforated mylar sheet.

My experience is that the Escape fabric is indeed breathable and reflective. It's truly UL and also water-resistant enough to withstand my garden hose test and an overnight puddle-soak test. Remains to be seen how durable it is but I haven't ripped mine yet after 20 full nights of use.

True ..application of use would be helpful in determining the best suited material .. I forgot about Insulfleece .. I used a layer in between a PLUQ w/ great results .. for those that don't know ..Insulfleece is a perforated Mylar layer sandwiched between two layers of fleece ( the fleece is very open and long fibers .. it would have to have some sort of layer around to have any real world use)

Is insulfleece comparable to insulbrite? I was thinking of adding a layer to my pluq. Would adding possibly more layers if insulbrite be useful or jus adding needless weight and bulk?

The only thing I could see is that Insulbrite has a hollow core fiber .. I found no mention that Insulfleece uses a hollow core fiber .. if you can look at them side by side .. price it it the same manner ..

In my practical experience with it (I have a fleece with it), I've found it to be very warm for the weight, but not as breathable as "regular" fleece wear.

I guess that's to be expected. But it does seem to act as a vapor barrier of sorts, so if I work up a sweat, I stay pretty sweaty.
